Jahanara Alam ( জাহানারা আলম) is a renowned Bangladeshi woman cricketer and current captain who plays for the Bangladesh national women's cricket team. She is an all-rounder. She is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and right-handed batswoman.

International cricket career

Alam created her ODI career against Ireland women's cricket team on November twenty-six, 2011.

Alam created her T20I career against India women's cricket team on August twenty-eight, 2012. In June 2018, she was a part of Bangladesh's squad that won their first-ever Women's Asia Cup title, winning the 2018 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup tournament. Later a similar month, she was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament.

On twenty-eight June 2018, she became the primary bowler for Bangladesh to require a five-wicket haul in WT20Is, within the match against Ireland.

In October 2018, she was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 tournament within the West Indies. She was the joint-leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh within the tournament, with six dismissals in four matches. Following the conclusion of the tournament, she was named because of the standout player in the team by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Recent In August 2019, she was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in Scotland.
