Nasima Begum - Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission in Bangladesh

Nasima Begum NDC has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission by the Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh with the rank and standing of a choice of appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court on twenty-two Sept 2019.

She was born on 10 Jan 1960 in Munshiganj, Bangladesh. She did her Masters’ Degree with Honors’ from the University of Dhaka in Islamic History ANd Culture and later an M.Phil. degree on Strategy and Development from National Defense college under Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). She joined Bangla Desh government officials on third Apr 1983 and began her career in Administration Cadre as AN Assistant Commissioner and judge. throughout over thirty five years of service she served nearly ten years on the problem of development of distressed ladies and kids, transgender, autistic and completely different disabled persons from varied government capability as Joint Secretary, Director General of Department of Social Services, Secretary of the Ministry of financial aid and Ministry of ladies and kids Affairs and at last Senior Secretary of the Ministry of ladies and kids Affairs.

During her active engagement within the field administration for around twenty years she had a chance to work with individuals from totally different walks of life. once the completion of triple-crown service tenure, she got PRL on nine January 2019 from The Ministry of women and children Affairs as Senior Secretary. She was honored for her contribution in promoting rights and access to education, health, rehabilitation, livelihood, the social direction of persons with disabilities and transgender in Bangladesh. She created a good contribution to the introduction of the excellent education system to assist kids with neurodevelopmental disorders. She received recognition for her work on promoting the rights of persons with disabilities together with kids with syndrome spectrum disorder (ASD) at the regional and international levels.

As a member of Bangladesh delegation She participated and contributed to the regional and international forums, like, Commission on the status of women (CSW), Convention on the Rights of the child (CRC), Convention for Elimination of Discrimination against ladies (CEDAW), Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), South Asian Initiative to finish Violence Against kids (SAIEVAC), etc. as her capability in individual areas.

She promoted initiatives to thought the distressed and marginalized ladies through the implementation of various comprehensive programs by the ministry.  She has been operating with completely different national programs to forestall gender-based violence, ending kid wedding and trafficking of ladies and kids through a coordinated approach together with GOs, NGOs, DPs and Citizen’s teams. Protection of ladies within the work and guaranteeing full and equal participation of ladies within the overall socio-economic development method in Bangla Desh has continually been her vision.

She competes for a key role in formulating varied acts, rules, and action plans under completely different ministries of the govt of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Those include: Disabilities Rights and Protection Act 2013; Neurodevelopmental Disabled Persons Protection Trust Act 2013; children's Act 2013; Child wedding Restraint Act 2017, dowery Prohibition Act 2018; kid wedding Restraint Rules 2018; desoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) Rules 2018; National Action attempt to finish child wedding (2018-2030), and National Action attempt to stop Violence Against ladies and youngsters (2018-2030).

She has been deeply engaged in mainstreaming the backward and marginalized categories into development activities and conducted analysis on inclusive education, special schooling, and comprehensive unfit children's learning system within the context of developing countries like the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Moreover, she has done some outstanding literary works on women's management and underprivileged teams of society.





Nasima Begum Personal life:

She is married to Md. Faizur Rahman Chowdhury, a Senior Secretary (PRL) to the govt of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. they've blessed 2 sons Sayeed Ahmed Chowdhury Nasif and Fahim Ahmed Chowdhury Nayeem.
